Milling Operator (SIGN ON BONUS)

Position Overview

Brix Paving Northwest Inc is hiring an Asphalt Milling Operator to support public and private paving projects across the Portland metro area. The role involves operating milling machinery and transporting heavy equipment using lowboy trailers.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt milling machines with precision and safety.
• Perform daily inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Transport heavy machinery and milling equipment using lowboy trailers.
• Communicate with project foremen and team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Load and unload machinery safely and within DOT and company guidelines.
• Follow traffic control, environmental, and safety procedures on job sites.
• Work flexible hours to accommodate daytime, nighttime, and weekend shifts.

Requirements

• Prior experience in asphalt grinding operations required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• CDL Class A license with lowboy hauling experience preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience driving lowboy trailers preferred.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and extended hours when needed.
• Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in construction and roadwork equipment operations.
• Knowledge of traffic control, environmental, and safety procedures.

Pay and Schedule

• $40.00 per hour with sign-on bonus (depending on experience).
• Full-time position.
• Flexible shifts including days, nights, and weekends as needed.
• Based in Sherwood, OR.
• Projects throughout the Portland metro area.
• Travel required to and from job sites; lowboy operation includes regional hauling.
