Military Funeral Honors Manager (Area Supervisor) Jefferson Barracks

About the role
Responsible for the overall area program direction and coordination of the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program (MMFHP). Supports requests throughout the area of responsibility for Military Funeral Honors support to veterans. Develops, maintains policies, procedures, and standing operations procedures (SOP) within the assigned area for military honors detail performance.
Ensures all Funeral Honors are provided to Veterans and Service Members in accordance with state and federal law. Coordinates with the Regional Casualty Assistance Center (CAC), Funeral Home, Honor Guard, and supporting military units to ensure all requests for MFH are supported. Coordinates on a regional basis the fulfillment of military members to support requests for MFH ceremonies for deceased veterans. As required, coordinates Veteran Service Organization (VSO) support in the absence of the Area Coordinator.
Ensures all Honor Guard members are in compliance with AR670-1 (Uniforms and Insignia), FM 21-20 (Physical Fitness Standard), and all other applicable regulations and policies governing the Honor Guard program.
Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws regarding Funeral Honors for Veterans and Service Members.
- Coordinate with Regional Casualty Assistance Center (CAC), Funeral Homes, Honor Guard, and supporting military units.
- Fulfill regional requests for military members to support MFH ceremonies.
- Coordinate Veteran Service Organization (VSO) support as needed.
- Ensure Honor Guard members comply with AR670-1, FM 21-20, and other applicable regulations.
- Work with a diverse group of agencies participating in burial details for veterans within the State of Missouri.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of military structure, capabilities, and procedures.
- Working knowledge of the principles and practices of office organization and management.
- Possess and maintain a current Missouri Driver’s License.
- Ability to manage a team and maintain a military atmosphere.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current or prior Non-Commissioned Officer or Company Grade Officer.
- Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written directions and maintain complex records.
- Ability to function in a high-stress environment involving multi-tasking requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external agencies.
Schedule
- Five (5) days a week, Monday through Friday, eight (8) hours per day.
- Subject to fluctuating schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as missions dictate.
- Occasional overnight travel required.
