Mid-Senior Level Wage & Hour Associate

Responsibilities

• Defend employers in complex wage and hour class, collective, and representative actions
• Manage wage and hour matters from inception through resolution
• Draft and respond to complaints, answers, pleadings, and dispositive motions
• Develop case strategy for PAGA representative actions
• Manage written discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests
• Take and defend depositions; prepare and argue motions, including class certification and decertification motions
• Analyze exemption classifications, regular rate calculations, meal and rest period compliance, pay statement claims, and waiting time penalties
• Review data and damages calculations related to wage and hour claims

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
• Five or more years of relevant litigation experience
• Substantial experience litigating claims under the California Labor Code, the Private Attorneys General Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act
• Experience drafting and responding to discovery, pleadings, dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions
• Strong motion practice experience, including class certification matters
• Excellent academic credentials and legal writing, research, and analytical skills
