Miami - Financial Services Litigation Associate (Mid-Level)
About the role
The Miami office of Reed Smith is seeking a mid-level associate to join the Financial Services Litigation Group. Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience representing clients in litigation and investigations involving consumer financial services, including credit litigation and mortgage litigation matters. Candidates should also have experience drafting motions and pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motions for summary judgment. The associate will participate in settlement conferences and appear before judges to argue motions. Candidates must be an active member of the Florida Bar.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in litigation and investigations involving consumer financial services, including credit litigation and mortgage litigation matters.
- Draft motions and pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motions for summary judgment.
- Participate in settlement conferences and appear before judges to argue motions.
Requirements
- Experience representing clients in litigation and investigations involving consumer financial services, including credit litigation and mortgage litigation matters.
- Experience drafting motions and pleadings, including complaints, answers, and motions for summary judgment.
- Active membership in the Florida Bar.
- Bilingual Spanish language skills is a plus.
Qualifications
- Bankruptcy experience is preferred.
- Experience with AAA or JAMS arbitration proceedings is preferred.
