About the role

Oversee and administer the efficient operations of each center by providing adequate staff, materials, and support for all trades and engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for day‑to‑day operations of all engineering vaults and their contents across NNS’ campus. The role includes managing all levels of classifications for documents, drawings, specifications, technical manuals, books, and correspondence; performing annual internal audits; participating in customer‑driven audits (e.g., DCSA, NAVSEA); securing and safeguarding vault contents with daily sign‑offs and inspections; adhering to the retention schedule; updating procedures as needed; cross‑training team members and fostering collaboration with waterfront vaults; transitioning to digital formats where applicable; enabling AI where appropriate; and providing superb customer service to end users.

Responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of engineering vaults and their contents.
• Classify and control documents, drawings, specifications, technical manuals, books, and correspondence letters.
• Perform annual internal audits and support external audits by customers such as DCSA and NAVSEA.
• Secure and safeguard vault contents with daily sign‑offs and inspections.
• Adhere to and enforce the document retention schedule.
• Update and improve vault procedures as needed.
• Cross‑train team members and promote collaboration with waterfront vaults.
• Transition applicable materials to digital formats.
• Enable artificial‑intelligence tools where appropriate.
• Provide excellent customer service to vault end users.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree + 6 years of progressive professional and/or supervisory experience, or
• Master’s degree + 4 years of relevant experience, or
• Equivalent combinations, such as:
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate’s degree + 2 years of exempt experience or 4 years of non‑exempt experience
  • Military paygrade E‑5 or above
  • High School/GED + 4 years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, or military experience (exempt) or 8 years (non‑exempt)
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Interim security clearance required.
• Willingness to travel up to 10 % of the time.

Pay

Salary range: $101,000.00 – $127,000.00 per year (estimated base pay; final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and other job‑related factors).

Schedule

Full‑time, 1st shift position with up to 10 % travel requirement.
