About the Role
This position is to lead the Receipt Inspection team at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS), the largest industrial employer in Virginia and a key provider of U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. The role involves overseeing hourly and contract inspectors at multiple locations, both within Newport News Shipbuilding and outside. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of general material inspection requirements and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of inspectors, including hourly and contract staff, at multiple locations.
- Ensure products comply with specifications through testing and inspection.
- Collaborate with diverse teams, from skilled trades to engineers and software developers, to support the manufacturing and integration of naval ships.
Requirements
- Apprentice graduate, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent.
- 6 years of applicable technical experience.
- Alternatively, 4 years of related exempt experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 2 years as a Supervisor Test Inspection 1 or equivalent position, plus a minimum of 8 years of related non-exempt experience, can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree and experience.

Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $106,000.00 to $133,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range.
Schedule
Full-Time, 1st Shift. Not eligible for telework.
