About the Role
This position is to lead the Receipt Inspection team at HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS), the largest industrial employer in Virginia and a key provider of U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. The role involves overseeing hourly and contract inspectors at multiple locations, both within Newport News Shipbuilding and outside. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of general material inspection requirements and the ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a team of inspectors at multiple locations.
- Ensure compliance with specifications through testing and inspection of products.
- Collaborate with diverse teams, including skilled trades, engineers, and technical experts.
Qualifications
- Apprentice graduate, Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent.
- 6 years of applicable technical experience.
- Alternatively, 4 years of related exempt experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 2 years as a Supervisor Test Inspection 1 or equivalent position plus a minimum of 8 years related non-exempt experience can substitute for a Bachelor’s degree and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience leading a team.
- Inspection-related experience.
- Knowledge of SAP programs and systems.
- Leadership skills/experience.
Pay
The anticipated salary range for this role is $106,000.00 to $133,000.00. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors, and may vary from the posted range.
