Job Responsibilities

Specific Job Duties

• To direct and follow Decostar Industries health and safety policies and procedures that provide for a safe and healthful workplace for all Decostar Industries employees, contractors and visitors.
• To exemplify the Charter principle for a safe and healthful workplace by correcting unsafe behaviors, eliminate or reduce the possibility of an employee injury due to hazardous conditions.
• To immediately respond, in a positive and proactive manner to any Decostar employee’s health and safety concern or suggestion.
• To immediacy report any accidents, incidents or near misses to the Safety Department and complete the required Accident Reporting Forms within 24 hours.
• To complete all required safety-related inspections.
• To not install or make changes to any equipment or machinery that may jeopardize the health and safety of any employee.
• To ensure all employees, under your guidance, have received all required training to perform their job safely.
• To demonstrate commitment and support personnel to reducing the impacts of its operation on the environment.
• To be responsible for the overall operation, direction, and supervisory duties of the Assembly Maintenance Department, which includes P32R, P33A and Final Assembly.
• To develop a Total Productive Maintenance program and Preventive Maintenance program that meet the Assembly performance goals.
• To participate in the cross-functional team for the purchase of new equipment for the launch of the Decostar Facility.
• To oversee the installation of various equipment, commission and complete customer sign-off process.
• To establish an inventory system for equipment spare parts that meets the needs of the Assembly department, complete with order points, parts specification and cost controls.
• To establish, implement and maintain a maintenance budget for expendable items and outside contracted services for the Assembly department.
• To work towards reducing maintenance costs on an annual basis.
• To ensure that all accidents are properly reported and accident investigations are completed within 24 hours.
• To perform other duties as required.

Education & Skills

• Associate’s Degree or completed apprenticeship program in a related field of study required.
• Six years work related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• Work experience combined with current schooling towards degree will be considered.
• Minimum two years in a supervisory position.
• Basic computer knowledge an asset.
• Engineering degree not required but would be an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to perform work while standing, walking, or sitting for extended amounts of time.
• Must be able to walk up and down stairs frequently.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis is required.
• Be able to work near alcohols, solvent, paints, or plastic sanding dust.
• Work below the knees and above the shoulders will be required.
• Good vision at a close distance and the ability to distinguish color is required with or without the use of corrective lenses.
• This position requires the ability to hear alarms with or without the use of hearing aids.

Training Requirements

• You will receive training to perform your job on an on-going basis concurrent with Decostar business operations.
• Training areas will include safety, quality, continuous improvement and other job specific training that is determined to be an essential part of your job and Decostar business operations.
