Meter Technician

About the role

The Meter Technician position is responsible for maintaining and repairing utility meters within the city limits. This includes troubleshooting issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring accurate readings.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair malfunctioning utility meters
• Perform preventative maintenance on utility meters
• Ensure accurate meter readings
• Communicate with customers regarding meter-related issues
• Respond to emergency service calls as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Knowledge of electrical systems and utility operations

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of related experience in utility maintenance or similar field
• First aid certification

• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient in using hand tools and test equipment
