MAJOR DUTIES
- Installs, maintains and repairs water meters and node readers in residential and commercial applications.
- Responds to work orders created by the customer service department.
- Performs meter tests for accuracy.
- Performs leak detection for customers with high usage concerns.
- Turns water service on and off for emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Hangs door hangers for delinquent customers.
- Performs non-payment turnoff/turn on for delinquent customers.
- Locates curb stops and meter pits for customers.
- Performs maintenance and installation of hydrant meters for contractors.
- Maintains shop inventory of meters, parts and supplies.
- Affords assistance in the maintenance and repair of the collection and distribution system when necessary.
- Attends required training.
- Responds to and resolves customer questions and complaints.
- Reads and interprets maps and permits on the Webviewer.
- Performs related duties.
