Metal Shop - Production Associate

For over 25 years, ASIC has been at the forefront of expansion and modernization of automation and controls projects for manufacturing facilities both large and small. We offer in-house engineering services such as field service support, PLC/HMI programming, and system integration/design. We also boast a full-service, UL 508A certified, cable assembly and panel building shop.

About the role

We are currently searching for a Metal Shop - Production Associate. This person will be responsible for starting nearly all of our panel builds by performing enclosure modifications to accommodate specified devices such as push buttons, stack lights, HMIs, AC units, fan/filter kits, etc. Modifications will be completed using hand tools and automatic punches on a variety of metal materials, primarily mild steel. Extreme attention to detail is required to minimize wasted or scrapped material. Detailed 2D dimensional drawings will be provided from engineering for each project to ensure accuracy. Each project is likely to differ from the last due to our wide range of manufactured products.

Responsibilities

• Measure and cut out holes and punches based on mechanical drawings
• Identify potential problems with drawings and alert management to avoid mistakes and rework
• Install mechanical components onto enclosures as needed (e.g., push buttons, HMIs, AC units, transformers)
• Lift 65+ lbs regularly

Requirements

• Ability to read and understand mechanical dimensional drawings
• Extreme attention to detail
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently
• Working knowledge and comfort using powered hand tools (e.g., drills for cutting and tapping, sawzall, hand saw, files, hydraulic knockouts)

Pay

$15.00+ per hour (based on experience)

Schedule

• Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Overtime available based on production schedule

Must live in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky to be eligible. This is an in-office position; remote work is not available.
