About the role
The Michigan Department of Corrections seeks a Mental Health Services Manager to oversee mental health treatment in correctional facilities. This role requires a master’s degree in psychology, social work, or counseling, or a master's degree in nursing with a clinical nurse specialty in psychiatry. Four years of professional post-masters experience as a qualified mental health professional, including two years equivalent to the experienced level (P11) or one year equivalent to the advanced level (12), is required.
Responsibilities
- Integration of mental health services in correctional facilities
- Working closely with Health Care and Correctional Facilities Administration
- Providing quality and flexible responses to mental health needs of prisoners
- Participating/advising on procedures and policy changes
- Membership in the Warden’s Management Team
Requirements
- Michigan license in good standing to practice within the scope of the qualified mental health profession
