Mental Health Crisis Worker - Hourly

About the role

We are seeking dedicated Crisis Service Professionals to provide on‑call crisis response, risk assessments, and mobile support to individuals experiencing mental health emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Responding to crisis calls and providing mobile crisis response
• Conducting risk assessments and determining appropriate interventions
• Offering brief crisis counseling and follow‑up services
• Meeting clients in various settings such as homes, hospitals, and community locations
• Responding to emergency calls related to suicide or other crises
• Gathering information from interviews, records, and collateral contacts
• Assessing client needs and connecting them to community resources
• Maintaining relationships with county staff, law enforcement, courts, and community partners
• Documenting client interactions in compliance with regulations
• Identifying service gaps and recommending improvements
• Staying informed on laws, procedures, and best practices in crisis services

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field (e.g., psychology, social work)
• Preferred minimum of one year experience with mental health clients
• Knowledge of community resources and relevant laws (Chapters 34, 51, 55)
• Strong crisis assessment, decision‑making, and independent working skills
• Ability to build relationships with diverse populations
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory motor vehicle record

Additional Requirements

• Must be within 1 hour of Adams or Juneau County for crisis response
• Occasional day travel may be required
