Mental Health Clinician (RPN/SW/OT/SP Gr3, or PSY Gr2) - Child & Youth Mental Health

Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is a specialist, multi-disciplinary, and intensive care mental health service for infants, children, young people, and their families/carers. We incorporate the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers, offering accessible mental health services that include family, friends, and support networks. Our service is divided into two streams (0-11 and 12-26 years) and includes specialist services in perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders, and outreach support.

About the role

We are seeking two full-time (1.0 EFT / 80 hours per fortnight with flexible ADO) contract positions based in Moorabbin, ending in August 2027 and December 2027 respectively. These roles are open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists (Grade 3), Speech Pathologists, or Psychologists (Grade 2).

As one of our mental health clinicians, you will provide generic case management responsibilities on our general sector team, which delivers assessment, treatment, and intervention to children and youth aged 12-26 years. Our team adopts a family-focused and systemic lens, valuing respect, partnership, and integrity.

Requirements

• Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and eligibility for membership with the appropriate professional body:
• Registered Nurse: Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent or Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent plus an approved postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing. Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
• Occupational Therapist: Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA.
• Speech Pathologist: Registration as a speech therapist with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
• Social Worker: Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• Psychologist: Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) via AHPRA. Endorsement as a clinical psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009 or eligibility and willingness to participate in a registrar training program leading to endorsement. A master’s or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
• Experience in child and youth mental health is desirable.
• Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination.
• Current Victorian Driver’s License.
• Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a Background Check.
