Clinician (RPN/SW/OT Grade 3 or Psy Grade 2) - Child & Youth Mental Health

Alfred Infant Child and Youth Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (ICYAMHWS) is a specialist, multi-disciplinary, and intensive care mental health service for infants, children, young people, and their families/carers. We provide accessible mental health services inclusive of family, friends, and support networks, incorporating the lived and living experience of family peer specialists and youth peer workers. Our service is divided into two streams (0-11 and 12-26 years) and includes specialist services in perinatal care, neurodevelopmental presentations, eating disorders, and outreach support.

About the role

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Moorabbin, offering flexible ADO (Accrued Day Off) arrangements. We are seeking a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, Social Worker, Occupational Therapist (Grade 3), or Psychologist (Grade 2) to join our team. The role includes frequent professional development opportunities and regular professional supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assessment and intervention, case-management, and single session/brief therapy for children and young people experiencing emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties, as well as their families.
• Deliver discipline-specific consultation and assessment to clients and clinical services both internal and external to ICYAMHWS.

Requirements

• Approved tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and eligibility for membership with the appropriate professional body.
• For Registered Psychiatric Nurses:
  • Bachelor Degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing or equivalent, or
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing or equivalent plus an approved postgraduate qualification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing.
  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA.
• For Occupational Therapists:
  • Current registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia via AHPRA.
• For Speech Therapists:
  • Registration as a speech therapist with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
• For Social Workers:
  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• For Psychologists:
  • Current registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) via AHPRA.
  • Endorsement as a clinical psychologist under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria) Act 2009, or eligibility and willingness to participate in a registrar training program leading to endorsement.
  • A masters or doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
• Demonstrated capability in the provision of a full range of mental health interventions at a senior level.
• Australian working rights and current Influenza vaccination.
• Current Victorian Driver’s License.
• Current Working with Children Check and willingness to undergo a Background Check.
