About the role
As a Memory Care Unit Coordinator, you are responsible for ensuring the Thrive program is implemented daily and facilitated by Life Enrichment Coordinators, Life Enrichment Assistants, and direct care team members. The Memory Care Unit Coordinator is also responsible for the general oversight of the Courtyard community in cooperation with the Administrator and Health Care Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the implementation and facilitation of the Thrive program by Life Enrichment Coordinators, Life Enrichment Assistants, and direct care team members.
- Oversee the Courtyard community in collaboration with the Administrator and Health Care Coordinator.
- Work closely with the Life Enrichment team and direct care staff to maintain a functional and appropriate program.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience working with individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
- Prior background in senior living, social work, recreational therapy, or nursing is preferred.
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
- Good judgment, prioritization of duties, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s progression in older adults.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
A fire and passion for working with seniors, a flexible, fun, and energetic personality, and professional image in both appearance and behavior are essential qualifications.
Skills
Must have the ability to demonstrate good judgment, prioritize duties, and solve problems effectively. Knowledge of dementia and Alzheimer’s progression in older adults is also required.
