About the role

Kitsap Credit Union is actively hiring for Member Associate I, II and III (Teller/Personal Banker) positions all over the area, including: our South Kitsap branch.

  • These positions are responsible for creating exceptional member experience while processing transactions, as well as offering and demonstrating all-digital, remote and self-service options.

    • Bonus Target: 5% of base pay potential incentive bonus if the credit union hits its goals
    • Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm, Friday 9am - 6pm, Saturday 9am - 1pm
    • Grade: 5BC

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Aid members with their financial needs and transactions.
  • Identify, develop, and refer business relationships to build market position.
  • Educate and introduce current and new members to new products and services and assist in self-service options.
  • Foster and maintain constructive member relationships.
  • Review and maintain knowledge of products.
  • Understand and recommend products and services based on the member’s needs.
  • Participate in sales and community events to contribute to branch and credit union goals.
  • Use effective sales techniques that result in a positive member experience and meet or exceed sales goals.
  • Maintain knowledge and adhere to operational, regulatory, security, and compliance standards.
  • Accept and process all financial transactions accurately.
  • Maintain responsibility and follows proper balancing procedures.
  • Promote and effectively demonstrate digital, remote and self-serve options, with continual education as new products and digital services are introduced.
  • Proactively generate new memberships through branch sales activities.

Qualifications And Education Requirements

  • Member Associate I – Junior Teller
    • $22.28 - $23.50/hour depending on experience
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • 6 months of cash handling, customer service, and/or retail sales experience
  • Member Associate II – Teller
    • $23.50 - $25.00/hour depending on experience
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • 6 months of Financial Institution experience
    • 6 months of cash handling, customer service, and/or retail sales experience
  • Member Associate III – Senior Teller & Lending
    • $25.35 - $28.00/hour depending on experience
    • High school diploma or GED required
    • 1 year of Financial Institution experience with New Accounts and Consumer Lending experience (HE/HELOC experience preferred but not required)
    • 1 year of cash handling, customer service, and/or retail sales experience
    • Identify and contribute new ideas and methods to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of processes and procedures
    • Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with the SAFE Act regulations
    • Meet or exceed referral and sales goals
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to junior team members
    • Assist members and non-members in opening share, new accounts, and basic lending
