The Opportunity

The Senior & Individual Services Consultant supports clients in managing their medical and life insurance plans. Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with clients and insurance carriers.
  • Performing financial analysis and writing medical plans (quote, present, place coverage).
  • Critically analyzing and comparing insurance plans to determine suitability.
  • Strategically planning all clients and retaining accounts.
  • Educating employees regarding Medicare.
  • Generating professional client and carrier correspondence.
  • Maintaining accurate and organized account files.
  • Updating HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of data.
  • Providing training as a subject-matter expert to other Client Services team members.
  • Supporting other employees within the department.
  • Performing other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School / GED with 2+ years of related compliant Medicare insurance sales and service experience.
  • Life & Health License.
  • AHIP Certified.
  • Contracted with various Medicare Carriers.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of carrier strengths and networks.
  • Effective and professional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Desire to learn and grow within the insurance industry.
  • Ability to respond to customer needs, solicit feedback, and handle difficult situations promptly and accurately.
  • Confidence and demeanor to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to gather and analyze pertinent information and facts, solving problems efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Critical Thinking: ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of solutions.

Working Conditions And Physical Demands

  • Mainly stationary position for the majority of the workday.
  • Frequent communication with colleagues and clients in person and on the phone.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Sometimes moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

Department Account Management & Service

Required Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Required Travel: No Travel Required.

Required Education: Diploma.
