About the Role
This position involves performing STAT and routine complex clinical laboratory testing on biological specimens using manual methods and automated analyzers. The technologist reports accurate patient results promptly, collaborates with healthcare professionals to interpret results, and supports operational activities to maintain testing capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Performing various laboratory tests with precision and efficiency
- Communicating test results effectively to healthcare teams
- Supporting laboratory operations and ensuring quality standards
Requirements
- Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related health field
- Completion of a clinical laboratory training program
- Certification from an accredited program
- Florida Clinical Technologist license in relevant areas
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
- Good communication skills
- Manual dexterity and color discrimination
- Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Tolerance for exposure to chemicals, infectious agents, and patient contact
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation, lasers, and machinery
- Physical capacity to work above shoulder level and handle chemical vapors or biological hazards safely
Qualifications
Experience is preferred but not required.
Schedule
- Full-time, nonexempt
- Focus on evening shifts
- Rotating weekends and holidays
