Medical Technologist II - Hospital Clinical Laboratory

Role Overview: This position involves performing STAT and routine clinical laboratory tests on biological specimens using manual methods and automated analyzers. The technician reports accurate patient results promptly and collaborates with healthcare professionals to coordinate testing and interpret results. Key Responsibilities: Conduct complex laboratory testing, support operational activities to optimize testing capabilities, and ensure quality and safety standards are maintained. Qualifications & Skills: Requires a Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related health field, with completion of a clinical laboratory training program. Candidates with degrees in Biology or Chemistry and relevant training are considered. Must be able to produce accurate results under time constraints, communicate effectively, and work in a fast-paced environment. Physical requirements include dexterity, color discrimination, and the ability to work with chemicals, machinery, and potentially infectious materials. Certifications & Licenses: State of Florida Clinical Technologist license in relevant areas. Preferred certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent. Additional Details: This is a full-time, night-shift role involving rotating weekends and holidays. Compensation ranges from $32.43 to $48.66 per hour, with benefits included. The role requires flexibility for schedule adjustments and physical ability to work with laboratory equipment and patient samples.
