Responsibilities
The Medical Generalist Technologist performs a broad range of laboratory testing and analysis to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring within the acute care hospital setting. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting testing across multiple laboratory disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank, and other assigned areas
- Operating laboratory instrumentation and evaluating quality control data
- Investigating testing discrepancies and communicating critical results to support safe and effective patient care
- Collaborating with providers, nurses, and laboratory team members to maintain efficient laboratory operations and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Demonstrating Service Excellence at all times
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- State of Florida Medical Technologist License required
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification required
- Minimum of one (1) year medical technologist experience preferred
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification
