The 295-bed hospital with over 800 physicians, residents and allied health professionals, offers advanced healthcare services in a caring and compassionate environment. Services include cardiac care and cardiovascular medicine, emergency care for all ages, surgery services — including robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci® Surgical System, a weight-loss program, orthopedic services, outpatient and inpatient radiology and rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep, oncology, wound care and women’s and children’s services. Manatee Memorial Hospital offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs and has the only Pediatric Center hospital-based outpatient multidisciplinary pediatric therapy center in Manatee County.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad range of laboratory testing and analysis to support patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring within the acute care hospital setting.
  • Conduct testing across multiple laboratory disciplines, including chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, microbiology, blood bank, and other assigned areas.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable test results.
  • Operate laboratory instrumentation and evaluate quality control data.
  • Investigate testing discrepancies and communicate critical results to support safe and effective patient care.
  • Collaborate with providers, nurses, and laboratory team members to maintain efficient laboratory operations and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Demonstrate Service Excellence at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • State of Florida Medical Technologist License required.
  • American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year medical technologist experience preferred.
  • BLS American Heart Association certification.
