About the Facility
Kindred Hospital Rancho is a 55-bed long-term acute care hospital offering the same in-depth care you would receive in a traditional hospital, but for an extended recovery period. We partner with your physician and offer 24-hour clinical care seven days a week to support your journey to wellness. The facility includes an eight-bed ICU and three negative pressure rooms. We are located near downtown Rancho Cucamonga just off of Foothill Boulevard, with close proximity to many shops and restaurants.
Responsibilities
- Performs analyses in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation, blood bank, and microbiology according to expected performance standards.
- Performs venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick on identified patients by physician's request in a timely, accurate, and caring manner.
- Keeps documented records current regarding maintenance and quality control.
- Follows the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Maintains records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Adheres to the laboratory's quality control policies, documents all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
- Identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either corrects the problems or immediately notifies the appropriate supervisor.
- Follows the laboratory's established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
- Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable safety, quality control, and specimen handling guidelines and procedures.
- Skilled in using applicable laboratory equipment such as centrifuges, meters, microscopes, incubators, pipettes, autoclaves, and sterilizers.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under strict deadlines.
- Considerable knowledge of the theory and practice of clinical laboratory methods and instrumentation.
- Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, laboratory medicine, disease processes, and laboratory procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all patient and/or employee information to assure rights are protected.
- Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Must have good and regular attendance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- Current license issued by the State in which the laboratory is located, if such licensing is required.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist by a nationally recognized agency/board preferred.
- 1-2 years of acute care hospital lab experience in high complexity testing preferred.
Pay
$45.00-$55.00/hr.
