Medical Screener - Reception Technician (Customer Service)
About the role
Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. Assists qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing health history, answering medical questions, and performing health screening procedures like blood pressure and pulse checks. May also educate new donors on therapeutic products and their donation process.
Responsibilities
- Conducts screening procedures including health history assessment and medical questions
- Performs health screening tests such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature
- Collects samples for hematocrit and total protein levels
- Trains and educates new donors on the donation process
- Registers and transfers donors as needed
- Answers the telephone and transfers calls to appropriate staff
- Maintains alertness for donor reactions and notifies staff
- Affirms accurate recording of donor data in the electronic system
- Understands and follows policies related to hyperimmune programs
- Maintains a clean and efficient work environment
- Ensures sufficient supplies and forms are available
- Fulfills safety and environmental policies
- Promotes safety in all actions
- Maintains confidentiality of personnel, donor, and center information
- May be cross-trained in other areas
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Pay
The expected base pay for this position at hiring is $16.61/hour - $19.65/hour. Individual base pay for a successful candidate within this range is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies, and other relevant factors.
