Medical Scheduler - Part Time
Job Summary
University Radiology, a leading provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in New Jersey, is seeking a Part Time Medical Scheduler for their East Brunswick, NJ Business Office.
Responsibilities
- Answers a high volume of calls, working towards the goal of about 9/10 calls per hour in a professional manner.
- Schedules and reschedules appointments for all imaging offices, making every effort to keep the workload even between all locations.
- Makes sure the supporting signs and symptoms match the ordered exam. Refers to an office technologist for assistance if needed.
- When calling patients, ensures they understand the necessary preparations, informs them of the need for any necessary lab tests, confirms the office location/address, and obtains insurance information.
- Keeps informed about the changing requirements of insurance companies and navigates the platform Insurance Matrix to determine which plans we participate with.
- Documents the patient's record with notes supporting the conversation.
- Able to navigate simple anatomy and knowledge of insurances and precertification.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Able to work independently in a high call volume and good in a fast-paced work environment.
- Team player who can contribute to providing a positive and professional work environment.

University Radiology is a long-standing provider of subspecialty radiology and teleradiology services in New Jersey. The company is comprised of over 200 Board Certified radiologists with advanced U.S.-based training and expertise in all modalities and subspecialties. They staff, manage, and provide preliminary and final subspecialty interpretations and consultative support for hospitals, imaging centers, and other medical facilities, and serve as the academic radiology faculty at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Their physicians interpret over 2.1 million radiology procedures per year.
