Medical Scheduler

We are looking for a Medical Assistant to support patient access and coordination for a contract opportunity in San Luis Obispo, California. This role focuses on arranging appointments, confirming essential patient information, and delivering courteous assistance over the phone. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting while helping patients navigate scheduling needs. Responsibilities:• Coordinate patient appointments for medical imaging and related services, ensuring calendars are updated accurately and efficiently.• Reach out to patients by phone to arrange visits, confirm availability, and provide clear instructions before scheduled appointments.• Enter and maintain patient demographic details in the appropriate systems with a high level of accuracy.• Assist patients with scheduling questions, rescheduling requests, and general appointment support in a thorough and attentive manner.• Manage inbound and outbound calls using strong phone communication skills and a service-focused approach.• Review scheduling information for completeness and address discrepancies to help avoid delays in patient care.• Support daily administrative tasks related to appointment management, documentation, and data entry.• Work closely with internal staff to help maintain smooth scheduling operations across the department. • Previous experience in patient scheduling, medical office support, or a similar healthcare administrative role. • Familiarity with coordinating appointments for medical imaging or other clinical services. • Strong data entry skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to verify and update patient demographic information in electronic systems. • Strong phone etiquette and confidence speaking with patients in a clear, respectful manner. • Comfortable contacting patients to confirm, change, or organize appointments. • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
