Medical Scheduler

NaphCare is hiring a Medical Scheduler to join our team of medical professionals at the Bibb Correctional Facility in Brent, AL. This role involves working alongside correctional officers and healthcare staff to schedule off-site appointments for a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Schedule various medical appointments, including on-site clinic visits and off-site specialist appointments, as recommended by medical staff.
• Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including entering consultation requests into the system and managing patient information.
• Arrange transportation for inmates to and from appointments, ensuring timely and secure transfers.
• Effectively communicate with healthcare staff, patients, and other relevant parties regarding appointments, scheduling changes, and other medical information.
• Adhere to all relevant security protocols, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA regulations.
• Utilize computer systems for scheduling, data entry, and report generation, often handling large volumes of data.
• Perform additional duties and specific projects as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED certificate.
• Prior training in a medical office setting scheduling medical appointments and working with medical records preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and various types of medical specialties.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to non-pristine environments and manage stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
• Integrity, professionalism, and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening.
