About the role

The Medical Records Coordinator II supports the clinic Medical Records function and is responsible for ensuring all clerical duties are accurately performed.

Responsibilities

  • Pull medical records for other departments and/or individuals as requested
  • Electronically file medical records
  • Prepare copies of medical records as requested
  • Scan medical records, ensure all requests for copies of medical records are authorized and approved for issuance
  • Review the medical record for completeness
  • Facilitate obtaining necessary signatures from physicians and practitioners to complete the medical record
  • File correspondence and other documents in medical records accurately
  • Aid in mailing correspondence from the business office
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure the patient's chart and information is complete for treatment
  • Projects a professional demeanor and appearance while maintaining the confidentiality of patients, coworkers, and Northwest Specialty Hospital

Requirements

  • Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own growth and advancements
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated computer skills in utilizing Microsoft Office, integrated database, and other functions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Two years clerical experience required
  • One year medical records experience required
  • RHIT Certification preferred

Qualifications

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
