Medical Receptionist/Patient Care Coordinator

About the role

The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for greeting patients warmly and efficiently collecting information and communicating with referral sources and therapists. They ensure a welcoming environment that encourages patient compliance and loyalty.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive team attitude
• Greet patients with a smile, using names and maintaining eye contact through virtual platforms
• Answer phones promptly and professionally, routing calls as necessary
• Maintain patient privacy and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
• Input patient demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently
• Check in patients, schedule functional tests, and schedule patient visits
• Communicate with therapists and PAS department to avoid treatment disruptions
• Explain verification of benefits forms and direct billing inquiries to PAS
• Reschedule missed appointments and keep a waiting list to improve patient compliance
• Collect and record payments, preparing deposits daily
• Communicate with referral sources and therapists about POCs and re-evaluations
• Aid patients in scanning necessary documents for care
• Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Job Functions

Physical Requirements

• Sit up to 6 hours continuously
• Frequent (33-66%) data entry
• Occasional (1-33%) standing and walking
