Medical Receptionist Float

About the role

Medical Receptionist operates a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintains long distance call logs. Take and distribute accurate messages. Greet visitors and determine the nature of their visit, issues visitor passes and maintain visitor logs, alerts appropriate party of visitor arrival or directs visitors to appropriate office, department or employee. Respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources such as our location, hours of operation, phone numbers, or email address. Additional responsibilities may include miscellaneous administrative activities such as booking meeting rooms, typing, organizing and distributing mail, receiving and sending courier packages. Decisions are limited to defined parameters around work expectations, quality standards, priorities and timing, and works under close supervision and/or within established policies/practices and guidelines with minimal opportunity for deviation.

Responsibilities

• Operate a switchboard or multi-line phone and maintain long distance call logs.
• Take and distribute accurate messages.
• Greet visitors, determine the nature of their visit, issue visitor passes, maintain visitor logs, alert appropriate parties of visitor arrival or direct visitors to the appropriate office, department or employee.
• Respond to routine inquiries from internal or external sources (location, hours of operation, phone numbers, email address).
• Book meeting rooms.
• Type, organize and distribute mail.
• Receive and send courier packages.
• Work under close supervision within established policies, practices and guidelines with limited deviation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Development.
• 1 year or more of experience working in a healthcare setting.
• Passionate about contributing to an organization focused on improving patient experiences and care.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Team player.
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
• Experience with EMR Systems (Electronic Medical Records).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Willing to work across multiple clinics or providers.
