About the role
The Front Office Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within the clinic. They are responsible for various administrative and patient-facing tasks.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes and greets patients, checks them in and out, and collects insurance and personal information.
- Verifies and updates insurance information on route slips and in the Electronic Medical Records system.
- Schedules and confirms appointments via phone.
- Processes patient files, scans and uploads documents, and maintains electronic and paper files.
- Administers topical ophthalmic and dilation medications as directed.
- Assists doctors during patient examinations and maintains a clean and orderly waiting area.
- Ensures compliance with state, federal, and company regulations.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
- Experience in a medical office or customer service preferred.
- Ability to travel to other clinics as needed.
Desirable Experience
- Experience in the Ophthalmic or Optometric industry.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and standard office equipment.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily an office setting with occasional travel. It is temperature-controlled and noise levels are usually low to moderate. The employee will frequently lift and carry light items and occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend.
Salary
$23-$25 per hour.
