Medical Oncologist
About the role
The Dartmouth Cancer Center is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible hematology/oncology physician to join its regional clinics in northern Vermont and New Hampshire. This role involves travel between two of the three Dartmouth Cancer Center clinics in St. Johnsbury, VT, Littleton Hospital in Littleton, NH, and Weeks Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, NH, delivering critical cancer care to patients and families in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and Northern New Hampshire.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care in hematology and oncology across regional clinics.
- Collaborate within an expanding integrated health system and multidisciplinary care team that includes Advanced Practice Providers, nursing staff, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, social workers, and dietitians.
- Engage in community service, education, and participation in clinical research.
- Contribute to the mission of the Dartmouth Cancer Center, an NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, by delivering research-based, high-quality care and supporting advanced technologies and clinical trials.
Qualifications
- Board certification or board eligibility in hematology/oncology (ABIM).
- Eligibility for New Hampshire and Vermont medical licenses.
- Board certification in Medical Oncology to be obtained within five years of hire.
- Evidence of strong clinical background and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an integrated health system.
Academic Appointment
Eligible for an academic appointment through the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College at a rank commensurate with qualifications.
Location and Setting
The position is located adjacent to Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and New Hampshire’s North Country, offering access to scenic landscapes including the Appalachian Trail, Connecticut River, White Mountains, and Green Mountains. The area features four distinct seasons, traditional New England scenery, and a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, skiing, and snowmobiling.

Pay
For a 1.0 FTE position, the annual base salary range for Medical Oncology is $410,000 to $475,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Incentive compensation may be available in addition to base salary. A sign-on bonus and relocation stipend may also be available, subject to eligibility.
