Medical Office Assistant
Position Overview
The Medical Office Assistant serves as the customer service liaison to UHS Orthopedic Center practices. Their responsibilities include greeting patients courteously and respectfully, providing seamless experiences, and adhering to UHS policies for registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing.
About the Role
This role can operate in either a clerical or clinical capacity. In the clerical role, the Medical Office Assistant interacts with patients and follows UHS policies. In the clinical role, they perform patient care tasks under the supervision of licensed professionals.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients with courtesy and respect
- Provide seamless patient experiences
- Adhere to UHS policies for registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and billing
- In the clinical role: assist with patient care tasks under the direction of licensed professionals
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program or direct patient care experience
- Previous experience in a walk-in, primary care, or specialty care setting preferred
- Certified medical administrative assistant (CMAA) preferred
- Strong clerical background with excellent computer skills
Qualifications
- Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment
Skills
Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.

Pay
$17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule
Day shift with regular scheduled weekly hours of 40
