About the role

Baptist Medical Center is currently seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to join their Laboratory Services department in Microbiology at Baptist Medical Center Downtown. This is a full-time nights opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintaining records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Serving as a General Supervisor and Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Instructing new employees and students.

Requirements

• 2 years Medical Technologist Experience
• Associate's Degree Required
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred
• Licensed Medical Technologist Required
• A Medical Technologist license within the State of Florida is required to apply.

Qualifications

• Education & Credential Requirements: Associate's Degree Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Skills

• Comfortable working independently or within a small team of one other Medical Technologist and Medical Lab Assistant.
• Ability to process gram stains, perform stat molecular testing, set up susceptibility testing, and quality control testing.
