Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Supervise by Director and Section Supervisors; can perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
• Serve as General Supervisor and Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Instruct new employees and students.

Requirements

• 2 years Medical Technologist Experience
• Associate's Degree Required
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred
• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred
• Licensed Medical Technologist Required
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required

Qualifications

• Must be trained in the areas of chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, hematology and some serology.
• Comfortable working closely with a team of 7-8 Medical Technologists and four Specimen Processors.
• This candidate must be licensed as a Medical Technologist in the State of Florida and in the areas of Chemistry and Hematology.

Skills

• Proficiency with Beckman Instruments and automation lines for chemistry, hematology, and coagulation instruments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

The pay for this position is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is full-time, evening shift from 12:30pm to 9:00pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The position is located in the Core Lab at Baptist Downtown.
