Medical Lab Scientist I, Microbiology, Baptist Downtown

About the role

Baptist Medical Center is currently looking for a Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join their Laboratory Services department in Microbiology at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville. This is a full-time, day shift opportunity, with rotating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Instruct new employees and students.

Requirements

• Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure rules.
• Experience Requirements: Less than 1 year Medical Technologist Experience
• Educational & Credential Requirements: Associate's Degree Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred; Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred, Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred, or Licensed Medical Technologist Required, or Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required; A Medical Technologist license within the State of Florida is required to apply.
