Medical Lab Scientist II
Responsibilities
- Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in one or more laboratory sections.
- Maintain records of performance as defined in the laboratory's general and sectional policy and procedure manuals.
- Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
- Instruct new employees and students.
- Serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
- Work with Director and Section Supervisors, however, the candidate can perform all responsibilities of this job description without on-site supervision.
Requirements
- 2 years Medical Technologist Experience
- Associate of Science Required
- Bachelor of Science (non-Nursing) Preferred
- Certified Medical Technologist (MT) Preferred
- Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Preferred
- Licensed Medical Technologist Required
- Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician Required
Qualifications
- License Note: Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure rules.
