Medical Lab Scientist II, Nights, Baptist Clay

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Medical Lab Scientist to join our team at Baptist Medical Center Clay. This is a full-time night shift opportunity with a rotating schedule, working alongside a smaller team of two other Medical Technologists. The candidate will have the opportunity to rotate within different areas of the lab and sharpen skills across specialties.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, general department, and clerical functions in laboratory areas where applicable.
• Maintain records of performance as defined in the SOP manuals.
• Perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision, supervised by the Director and Section Supervisors.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and serve as Charge Technologist in the absence of other lab supervisors or MTs.
• Instruct new employees and students.

Requirements

• Valid Medical Technologist - Generalist license in the State of Florida (required before hire).
• At least one year of working experience as a Medical Technologist.
• 3-5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Associate's Degree (required). Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) or Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (preferred).
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician (required).

Note: Candidates licensed prior to 1997 are not required to have certification per the State of Florida Licensure Rules.

Schedule

Full-time night shift with a rotating schedule.

Primary location: Baptist Clay - Main Building.
