Bon Secours is a faith-based and patient-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of all people through exceptional patient care. The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) position at Simpsonville Five Forks Emergency Center is PRN and part-time, working nights.

Responsibilities

• Performs analytical tests on biological specimens, ensuring timely, efficient, and accurate results in compliance with documented laboratory procedures
• Determines acceptability of specimens by performing visual inspections or recognizing abnormal/unusual results
• Recognizes factors affecting measurements and results and takes appropriate action according to protocols
• Maintains quality control for all testing and ensures results are released only after meeting established ranges
• Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, monitoring temperatures, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program
• Certification: MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility from a nationally recognized certification agency
• Experience: Completion of an externship program (preferred)
