Bon Secours is a faith-based and patient-focused organization dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of all people through exceptional patient care. The Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and accuracy in laboratory testing.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine tests on blood, tissues, and other body specimens
• Ensures specimens are acceptable by performing visual inspections or recognizing abnormal/unusual results
• Monitors and corrects factors affecting measurements and results according to protocols
• Maintains quality control for all testing and releases results only after meeting established ranges
• Monitors and maintains a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work areas, monitoring temperatures, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program
• Certification: MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility from a nationally recognized certification agency
• Experience: Completion of an externship program (preferred)
