About the role

Responsibilities

  • Performs analytical tests on biological specimens, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in compliance with laboratory procedures.
  • Determines specimen acceptability by visually inspecting or recognizing abnormal/unusual results.
  • Identifies and addresses factors affecting measurements and results according to established protocols.
  • Maintains quality control for all testing and releases patient results only after meeting established ranges.
  • Maintains a safe and efficient work environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work areas, monitoring temperatures, and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Biochemistry from a CLIA-approved program.
  • Certification: MLS Medical Lab Scientist Certification or eligibility from a nationally recognized certification agency (preferably ASCP).
  • Experience: Completion of an externship program (preferred).

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
