Patient Service Specialist (PSS)

Responsibilities

• Process referrals, schedule patients, complete the intake process, and perform data entry.
• Verify patient insurance, obtain required authorizations, and explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies.
• Collect toward patient responsibility at each visit.
• Scan and maintain medical documents.
• Reconcile and post charges daily and manage other reporting to ensure clean claim processing.
• Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians.
• Maintain the office, order supplies, and manage mail.
• Adjust schedule to center needs.
• Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs.
• Travel to non-home location centers or other sites for coverage when necessary.

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED.
• Customer service experience.
• Knowledge of insurance verification.
• Healthcare, medical, or dental office administration experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Flexible and able to work well with others or independently.
• Self-starter with excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to get things done and coordinate patient appointments.
• Experience with medical records and electronic health record systems.

Pay

Starting salary: $18 - $25 per hour based on experience.

Schedule

Hours vary between Monday - Friday, 7am - 7pm. Full-time position.
