Medical Director - Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Bennington, VT
About the Role
Dartmouth Health's Department of Psychiatry seeks a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director of a new adolescent inpatient psychiatry program at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. This role includes dedicated time for administrative responsibilities as well as direct clinical care on the unit. Clinically, you will provide state-of-the-art acute psychiatric and substance-related disorder care for adolescents aged 12-17.
The inpatient unit will include an experienced team of psychiatric nurse practitioners, social workers, therapists, psychiatrists, and medical providers to deliver high-quality care. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a clinical service in psychiatry and be a skilled clinician with a strong interest in working in an inpatient setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide acute psychiatric and substance-related disorder care for adolescents (ages 12-17)
- Lead administrative and clinical operations of a new adolescent inpatient psychiatry program
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatric nurse practitioners, social workers, therapists, and medical providers
- Opportunities to teach in didactic or supervisory settings for the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship or psychiatry residency at Dartmouth
Requirements
- Board certified (or eligible) in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry
- Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)
- Postgraduate training in a residency program
- Current New Hampshire Medical License
- Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)
- Active hospital staff membership
