Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist (Part-Time/Monday -Friday)

About the role

The role of Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia involves:

• Performing high volume of phlebotomy
• Maintaining supplies for the blood drawing stations
• Aiding in the clinical care of fertility patients
• Sending lab specimens to proper labs
• Providing patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, and communicating physician orders and instructions
• Performing semen washes and setting up for IUIs
• Taking vital signs and providing general clinical assistance
• Utilizing the computer to enter labs and print labels
• Establishing a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families
• Supporting and promoting excellence in customer service

Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist will collaborate with:

• More than 200 highly respected physicians nationwide
• Patient and team members who are passionate about solving meaningful problems

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills Include:

• Strong phlebotomy skills required
• High School diploma and completion of a formal MA program preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
• Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
