Resource (PRN) position in a physician office setting in Kettering, first shift.
Responsibilities
- Assist physician in examinations.
- Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician.
- Take blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
- Stock rooms with adequate medical supplies, wash and dry instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.
- Assist with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or physician(s).
- Keep medical records in accordance with procedures and forms.
- Follow principles of medical ethics.
- Perform any other duties relating to the business operation of the medical practice that may be assigned by the physician(s) or practice office manager.
Requirements
- Must either have six months experience as a Medical Assistant, OR have graduated from an accredited MA or Medical Office Management program that meets nationally accepted standards.
- Within 15 months from date of hire, continued employment will require successful attainment and retention of one of the following certifications/registrations: CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (through AMT), or RMA (through ARMA), plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Ability to float between a variety of practices in the Dayton area.
- Valid Ohio driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a medical environment to gain practical knowledge in the following areas is preferred: examination process, diagnostic and treatment room procedures, medical equipment and instruments, safety hazards and precautions, confidentiality/discretion.
- Ability to communicate and relate well with office staff, ancillary departments, and the public; follow direction; accept orders; perform repetitive tasks; and be patient, courteous, and tactful.
- Computer literate in use of word processing and email; experience in electronic medical records preferred.
