About the role
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians in routine clinical procedures and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating patient flow and greeting patients upon arrival
- Preparing patients for exams by measuring vital signs and updating electronic medical records (EMR)
- Aiding with clinical procedures, tests, and pre-visit preparations
- Reconciling medications, setting up refills, and managing prescriptions
- Performing point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, urine, glucose)
- Providing patient education and addressing minor concerns or complaints
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or Medical Assistant certification
- A current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- At least 3 years of clinical experience with at least 1 year as a Medical Assistant
- Proficiency with computers, EMR systems, and understanding of testing procedures
Preferred qualifications
- An associate degree or graduation from a medical assisting program
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), if required by specialty
