Medical Assistant - Full Time - Day

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with all patient care
• Measure and record vital signs
• Record patient interview, history and chief complaint
• Provide patient education with regards to office policies, medications, management of diseases, home treatments and special diets
• Assist the physician with exams and minor office surgery
• Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests
• Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures and perform other first aid procedures
• Use CPR skills when required
• Maintain supplies, equipment, stocking, and sterilization of instruments
• Practice OSHA safety standards
• Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times
• May triage patient phone calls/review prescriptions with patient as directed by physician
• Perform other duties as assigned which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances
• Perform Phlebotomy
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned
• Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior
• Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs. and stand a minimum of 1 hour a day

Requirements

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with varying populations
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification required
• Certified Phlebotomy Technician preferred

Pay

Minimum rate of $21.70 hourly. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
