About the role
VIVO Infusion is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant/Clinical Service Specialist to join our team at our Nomad, NY location. In this position, you will play a crucial role in our clinical operations by providing essential support to our medical team, patients, and the infusion center.
Responsibilities
- Welcomes patients, updates patient charts, and communicates pertinent patient data to providers and nurses.
- Supports administrative and front-end tasks: greets patients, assists with scheduling, manages phone calls, processes payments, oversees exam room turnover, collects and prepares lab specimens, obtains prior authorizations, and manages supplies.
- Aids in the exam room as requested, trims patient phone calls and messages, documents them appropriately, orders and stocks exam rooms, disinfects and stocks exam rooms, and assists with record management.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills, reports patient issues, follows infection control protocols, and assists with proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- Maintains confidentiality of all company and patient records, adheres to HIPAA, communicates schedule changes, manages incoming mail and deliveries, and assists with triaging patient phone calls and messages.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent, required.
- Medical Assistant Certification, preferred.
- CPR/BLS, required prior to start date.
- One year of experience working within a clinical environment, required.
- One year in an administrative, patient-facing, or customer service role, required.
- Phlebotomy and lab processing skills, preferred.
Skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as needed.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients, and physicians.
- Computer skills for electronic recordkeeping.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Pay
Pay Range: $22.00 - $26.00
Bonus Plan Target: 5% Annually (Based on performance)

Monday - Friday | 8:00am - 5:00pm
