Medical Assistant - Cardiac - East

About the role

The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with facilitating patient visits and procedures, conducting routine laboratory tests, making referrals, and contributing to quality outcomes for the practice's patient population.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other team members in a professional setting
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff
• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies
• Manage an efficient flow of the provider’s caseload
• Obtain vital signs, EKGs, and specimen collections as needed
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient needs and established protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills

Requirements

• Graduate from a recognized medical assisting program OR have a High School Diploma/GED plus one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the last three years
• Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within six months of employment
