Medical Assistant - Center for Advanced Heart Care - East

About the role

The Medical Assistant will assist the provider with facilitating patient visits and procedures, conducting routine laboratory tests, making referrals, and contributing to quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use, including cleaning and stocking supplies
• Room patients and manage an efficient flow of the provider's caseload
• Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collections
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system
• Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient's chief complaint and available protocols
• Process referrals and medication refills
• Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff

Requirements

• Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED plus one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years
• Medical Assistant certification required within six months of hire
